“The arms of the wicked shall be broken, but the Lord upholds the righteous … They shall not be ashamed in the evil time” (Psalm 37:17, 19). God promised David, that He would be the king of Israel. But what happened in his life was contrary to this promise. David spent the next few years running for his life, living in caves, chased by Saul and his entire army. In and through all this, David sees the promise of the Lord fulfilled. God vindicates David and He is crowned the king.No matter what you see around you, no matter what confronts you, God will not let you be put to shame. He upholds the righteous. God will never put His trusting people to shame. He will keep His Word. What He promised, that He will fulfill.

1 Peter 5

Children seldom worry about what they are going to eat. They simply run to their parents saying, “I’m hungry.” They don’t stress about how much something costs, how long it takes to prepare or any such thing. Children simply trust that the parent who has always faithfully fed them will continue to do so. How often do we find ourselves stressed over things we face in our lives? When we depend on God like a child, we no longer need to worry.
He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all–how will He not also graciously give us all things? – Romans 8:32
Knowing that God gave us His Only Son – Jesus should fill us with confidence that our Master cares deeply for our needs.

Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Life surrounds us with many reasons to be anxious and concerned. The Lord tells us not be anxious but to pray about everything. Thank Him beforehand because He is going to take care of all that concerns you. Hasn’t He promised that He would feed us, clothe and carry us to the end?
PRAYER: Lord, I bring all the issues that concern me and bring anxiety and stress into my life, and I give them to You right now. I choose to trust You and I will not entertain anxiety, fear or doubt. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Luke 10:41 HE answered her, ‘Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things.’ Just as the Lord was aware of Martha’s condition, so He knows your situation too. He knows your every anxious thought and your every troubling concern. His desire is that we would live free from this burden and weight. His Word to you is: ‘Do not be anxious about anything, My child!’

PRAYER: Lord, rid me of all anxiety and worry. May I live in the security of Your love and provision and may I be free from discouragement and distress that threatens to drown me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

I sought the LORD, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to Him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. Psalm 34:4-5
Are you oppressed by fear and anxiety? See what David did when he was fearful: He sought the Lord and He delivered him from all his fears. Then he goes on to say, those who look to Him are radiant. Who do you look to? If you look to people, they can do only so much, but if you look up to Jesus Christ, who is the Light, you will be radiant. You will never be put to shame, you will never be disappointed because the Lord will never let you down.

“Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten in God’s sight” (Luke 12:6).
The Almighty God who keeps the planets in their orbits is aware of a lowly sparrow that falls to the ground.
Are you anxious? Fretful? Fearful? If the Lord takes such tender care of every bird He ever created, would He not care much more for His children.
As for your value, Jesus died on the Cross to save you from sin and eternal separation from God. He died to make you His very own.
You can rest knowing God’s caring eye is watching over you.
