Hebrews 12:6 For the Lord disciplines the one He loves.
God is gracious and merciful, but He is also holy and just. This requires Him to confront sin, which destroys the people He loves. Unless He can turn the hearts of His people from their wicked ways, they will not only harm themselves but also miss out on an intimate relationship with Him.
If you are being disciplined for sin, remember that it is because God loves you and wants to turn your heart back toward Him. Be grateful that God cares enough about you to want the very best for you, even if it means temporary pain, but it can bring permanent blessing.
Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
Why are you so fearful and worried, dear one? Let go of your trials and let God hold you. He knows the plan for your life. He wrote your story from beginning to end. Your future is a memory to Him. He’s already there. You have to let go and let God lead you through life, trusting Him to get you to the other side.
Galatians 4:7 ‘Now you are no longer a slave but God’s own child. And since you are His child, God has made you His heir.’
What a privilege we have to be children of God! We are not slaves or servants, but we are sons and daughters. The Lord sees you as one of His very own beloved child. As His child we can enjoy what He has prepared for us – our inheritance!
PRAYER: Lord,thank You that through Jesus Christ my Saviour I am Your child, and how wonderful it is to know that You are my Father and I choose to settle for nothing less than Your best for me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Great is His faithfulness. Lamentations 3: 23
When trouble strikes and our hearts grow faint we so often forget the goodness and love of our Father in Heaven for and we begin to doubt Him. When that happens we begin to be consumed by our stress and our fears and begin to blame God. When we recall His great love for us, reminding ourselves daily of His compassion toward us, our hearts gain strength. When the stresses of life begin to overwhelm you begin to reflect on the faithfulness of God in the past. Thank Him for how He rescued you, how He provided for you- the stress will slowly melt away
Gates and bars do well to protect a home or a city, but then only are they secure when God makes them strong. The true safety is in God’s defence of it. Psalm 127:1 says, unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards watch in vain. Is God your defence? Have you taken shelter and refuge in Him? You can rest assured that He will keep you and your home safe and secure. Your children will be blessed within your walls. Don’t live in fear, child of God. For He has strengthened the bars of your gates and blessed your children within your walls. Psalm 147:13
Ephesians 3:20 ‘Now all glory to God, Who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.’
The Lord is able to do more than you could ask or think. His mighty working power is at work within each one of us. His purpose for working in our lives goes beyond what we could imagine or think.
Give Him glory, He will accomplish more than we could in our own strength.
PRAYER: Lord, I bring You all praise and glory today. I declare that You are able to accomplish what You have planned and purposed for my life. Work within me I pray and may I ‘see’ more than I could have asked for or imagined. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
‘Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast.’
No matter what we face in life, the Lord undertakes to guide us through it all. His leading and guiding hand is always there to gently show us the way to go. He will never leave us even if we feel abandoned. He’s always there and He will hold us fast, even when things seem to fall apart.
PRAYER: Lord, thank You for Your guiding hand in my life. I surrender myself into Your completely trustworthy hands. Hold me and lead me I pray. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
‘May you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is.’
Let me remind you that you are valuable and precious to God and He loves you. His love for you is so great that our finite mind cannot comprehend it. You need His help and power to grasp and understand it. His love is limitless, beyond explanation and filled with compassion and mercy.His love reaches above the highest heights and below the deepest valleys.
PRAYER: Lord, thank You for Your GREAT love towards me. I pray that You would give me the power to begin to understand how great and awesome Your love for me is! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
“Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will bring it to completion until the day of Jesus Christ:”
God brought Joseph up, out of the pit and took him straight from the prison to the palace, second in power only to the Pharaoh!
Was Joseph qualified?Joseph could have wallowed in his disappointments, everyone has that choice, but realize this….there is no disappointment God cannot turn into an appointment. God has so much in store for you.
You’re a work in progress! You’re a miracle in the making!
When people look at you they may not see a finished product, but the good news is when God looks at you He sees a masterpiece.
‘Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfil the law of Christ.’
You and I have the ability to be a blessing and lift other’s burdens. We should be ready to help others in time of their need. When we do this we fulfill the Law of Christ by obeying His command to love one another. So let us be a blessing by helping others and in the process, please the Lord.
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I pray that my life will be a blessing to those around me. Help me to carry the load of others and in the process follow Your example! Amen.
