Asaph wrote eleven Psalms. Yet Asaph confessed,“Truly God is good to Israel, to such as are pure in heart” “But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled; my steps had nearly slipped” (Psalm 73:1-2). Why? Because he saw the wicked around him prospering,Like some of us wonder why blessings are heaped on people who live duplicitous lives? Perhaps you’ve seen an ungodly coworker rewarded instead of you or a wicked neighbor acquire material things while you struggled to make ends meet.It can be very easy for suffering Christians to slide into doubt. They may think, “I’ve been living right but all my diligence have been in vain. In spite of all I do, I still suffer.”That is when you need to guard your heart. Don’t let your faith or your confidence be shaken. God is still on the throne. God will help you. Asaph saw that he had almost slipped but he held on to proclaim, “I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all Your works” (73:28). And you can do the same!

Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Saviour. The Sovereign Lord is my strength; He makes my feet like the feet of a deer, He enables me to go on the heights.” Habakkuk 3:17-19 Regardless of his circumstances, Habakkuk had learned to be joyful in His Saviour and clings to his God for strength. In the midst of things that seem to be going wrong in our lives, may we like Habakkuk, stop right now and choose to praise Him simply for who He is.

PRAYER: Lord, thank You that You Yourself go before me and You will be with me. You will never leave me nor forsake me and You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. In Jesus’ Name Amen.

Psalm 102:17

‘He will turn His attention to the prayers of those who have been abandoned. He will not despise their prayers.’

– Our prayers and cries to the Lord for help are things He takes seriously.
– When we feel desperate, despairing and hopeless, He is there to hear our call.
– Today, He will turn His attention to your prayer and hear you.
– So call on Him, He is ready and able to respond to your faith in Him.

PRAYER: Lord, I call on You today. You know the condition of my heart and the issues that concern and worry me. In this moment, I bring all these things to You, knowing that You hear and care for me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
