David is a man we can all relate to. We may not have committed murder or adultery, but we all know the tension of sin, guilt and shame. He tried to hide his sin and committed one crime after another until he was confronted by Nathan the prophet.
Like David, if you’re in the middle of a mess today, don’t hide, don’t flee… own it up. Don’t be its prisoner any longer. Confess your sin to God. And God in all His mercy, grace and compassion will never turn away a repentant heart. He will wash you white as snow. His blood will make you whole.
Dear Jesus, Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin. Amen Ps 51:2
“A thousand times I’ve failed. Still your mercy remains. And should I stumble again. Still I’m caught in your grace.” That’s so true, no matter how many times I’ve failed, GOD is still there loving and guiding me.
If you have made a mistake and the enemy is taunting you, or if you are in a pit of guilt, the Lord wants you to know that He loves you.
The Lord says, “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love: therefore with loving kindness have I drawn you. Again I will build you and you will be rebuilt.” Jeremiah 31:3-4
He will rebuild all that the enemy has destroyed in your life. All you have to do is run to the arms of Jesus.
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:6-8
Christ died, not for people who look like they have it all together but for people who were, “powerless,” “ungodly,” and “sinners”
This truth is tremendously freeing. I don’t have to be wondering if God is going to abandon me because I failed Him. God already knows the worst about me – and He chose to love me! God’s love never fails– delight in that statement.
But Jesus said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.”
Far too often when we feel weak or powerless we respond with fear, anger, despair or desperation. But God is an endless source of strength. No problem that we face is too great for Him to solve. When we feel overwhelmed by our problems, we just need to lean on His strength, and His grace will see us through.
What are you struggling with? Rely on God to fill you with strength in your time of trial and temptation. His strength is capable of overcoming addiction, filling the ache of loneliness, pushing past discouragement and bringing comfort to soothe your grief.
He has saved us and called us to a holy life–not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 1:9
When a life is touched by Christ, he/she is eager to repent and turn away from past sins. They long to obey the word of God because they are in love with their Saviour and want to please Him in every way. They are so grateful to Him for His saving grace and do not take His grace for granted and continue to sin under the guise of grace. God’s grace enables us to live and grow and thrive in Him. His grace builds us up and helps us bear fruit.
I don’t want to be left where grace initially found me. I want to grow up in Christ, so I may reflect to others what grace is like.
