‘Those who look to Him are radiant with joy; their faces shall never be ashamed.’
There is something different about people who are trusting the Lord. As we trust in Him, something about the way we look changes. There is peace and joy instead of despair and hopelessness. That’s because we don’t look at our circumstances, but look to Him in every situation.
PRAYER: Lord, I lift up my eyes, above the troubles that are around me, and I look to You. You are my hope, You are my salvation and You are the One Who comes and lifts up my head. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
What we call “blessings” are not always blessings. Having or hoarding plentiful possessions doesn’t guarantee happiness. It’s what we do with what we have that determines a sense of prosperity. What matters is looking at everything with eternity in mind. Whether we share our time, or help those in need, the reward is in the giving. Jesus provides the example of how to live our lives as generous givers. He gave His all, to redeem us. (Titus 2:14). Our blessings are entrusted to us for blessing others. In refreshing others, we too will be refreshed!
Acts 3:19 ‘Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.‘‘Repent’ means to turn away from your old sinful life and turning to God. The old life doesn’t appeal to you anymore. Those old habits repulse you and you have a new thirst for righteousness. It’s not that you become sinless overnight. But you no longer want to do the things you used to do. You want to sin no more. And when you do that, God has ‘times of refreshing’ in store for you. Why settle for barrenness when you can enjoy times of refreshing.PRAYER: Lord, forgive me for those things that I have done that have displeased you. I want to enjoy the ‘times of refreshing’ that You have prepared for me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Isaiah 44:2 ‘This is the word of the LORD, your Maker, who formed you from the womb and will help you: Do not be afraid!’
How wonderful it is to know that the Lord formed and made us. He knows from our mother’s womb and is interested in every detail of our lives. The Lord does not want us to fear, but He wants us to trust Him because He is the One who will help us.
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, thank You for the intricate way in which You are involved in my life. Thank You for making me and putting me together according to Your plans. I will trust in You and I will not be afraid. Amen.
