John 11:25 Jesus said, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in will live, even though they die!’ Life is what Jesus came to give us when He came to earth in human form to die and to rise from the dead. This life can be our portion, our right, our privilege and our inheritance when we put our faith and trust in the Lord Jesus. The Bible actually speaks of abundant life that we can enjoy. How often we settle for so much less. We settle for survival and ‘lifeless’ living, when He paid the ultimate price to give us real, true and abundant life. Choose life, choose Jesus.

Pride refuses to depend on God and be subject to Him and takes the honour due to Him. What makes me reluctant to trust God but rather try to make the impossible happen all by myself? Pride. God hates pride. God resists the proud because the proud resist God. Pride will not admit to sin. The heart of pride never confesses, never repents, never asks for forgiveness. “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble” (1 Peter 5:5). Isn’t it easy to see why? Humility is happy to do what pride will not. The humble heart is quick to acknowledge the need for God, eager to confess sin, willing to kneel before heaven’s throne. And it’s no wonder God makes His grace abound to the humble!

Psalm 51:6  “Behold, You desire truth in the innermost being.” Although lying is rampant and socially acceptable in our culture, it violates one of God’s most foundational principles for living. God desires for us at all times to speak the truth. God takes lying very seriously. God is a God of truth. Truth has its origin in God. In fact, Jesus states that He is “the truth.” It defines who He is. Lying is opposite to His nature; it is the nature of satan, he is the father of lies, and his mission is to steal, kill, and destroy.  Trust is often broken when we lie. So let’s make it our choice today and every day, to always tell the truth – no matter how much trouble we are in. It’s a choice we need to make.

‘The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.’ (Luke 4:18-19).
Jesus came to undo all the horrendous effects that sin has had on the human race, and restore to people their true freedom and dignity as sons and daughters of God.
Jesus was sent by God on a ‘rescue mission’. He came to restore justice to the oppressed, wholeness to the sick, comfort to the lonely, and joy and restoration to those isolated from God.
God has rescued us through His Son, the Lord Jesus, and He calls us to be part His mission to a lost and broken world.

1 Timothy 1:19 ‘Cling to your faith in Christ, and keep your conscience clear.’
Our faith in Jesus is the one thing that will carry us through the storms of life. We should hold on to our faith and cling to it with every fibre of our being. The Word tells us that without faith it is impossible to please the Lord. So, let’s always do the right thing and believe in Him and put our faith and trust in Him ALONE!
PRAYER: Lord, I desire to pass the tests in life and not to fail or be shipwrecked along the way. I choose to remain confident in You and to cling to You, Jesus. Amen.

When the LORD your God brings you into the land He swore to your fathers, to give you–a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build, houses filled with all kinds of good…then when you eat and are satisfied, be careful that you do not forget the LORD.” – Deuteronomy 6:4-12
When the LORD fulfills His promises and blesses us, we tend to become comfortable and forget the LORD. This is a dangerous place to be. The Lord will keep His promise and bless you, but when He does that don’t become complacent. Pray all the more, love Him and serve Him even more than before, give generously, be humble and love others and be a blessing to those around you.

Faith is an essential element of our lives. We need faith as we face the different seasons and the change that they bring. But in all this we can expect and believe God for a breakthrough.
Hebrews 11:1 What is faith? It is the assurance of what we hope for and the certainty of what we do not see. We need to be full of faith and expectation that at any time God could come through for us and that as a result we will experience a breakthrough! The people in the Bible who God used, were known for their faith and expectation in God. Hebrews 11:2 says, Men of God in days of old were known for their faith. Let us be people of faith and expect great things from God.

Psalm 139:16 ‘Your eyes saw my unformed body; all my days were written in Your book and ordained for me before one of them came to be.’How precious it is to know that every day the Lord gives us, is a day He planned for us. His word tells us that He has a book and each day of our lives is written in this book. Each day is a specific gift from Him and He determines how many days we get. We should make the best use of each day and serve Him faithfully.PRAYER: Lord, thank You for today and all the blessing and opportunities that come with it. May my life be found to be fruitful as I take each day and enjoy what You have ordained for me! In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
