I will say to the LORD, “You are my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly plague. He will cover you with His feathers; under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and rampart. Psalm 91:2-4 Assuredly no subtle plot shall succeed against the one who has the eyes of God watching for his defense, we are foolish and weak as poor little birds, and are very apt to be lured to our destruction by cunning foes, but if we dwell near to God, He will see to it that the most skillful deceiver shall not entrap us and no plague will come nigh our dwelling.
The psalmist starts by saying, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High”, shall remain stable under the shadow of the Almighty (whose power no foe can withstand).
“The LORD is my refuge, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. That is powerful! NO FOE or POWER can stand against Him.
“Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honour him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” All because we have chosen to enter into the most special relationship with our God, through the Lord Jesus Christ.
Psalm 91:4 “He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge.
Psalm 63:7-8: Because You are my help, I sing in the shadow of Your wings.
Yes, when we take refuge under the shadow of His wings, He can sing for joy because our Lord sustains us, helps us and protects us. We don’t have to live in fear. Ruth understood this. She took refuge under the wings of the Almighty God. (Ruth 2:12) And when she made Him her refuge, He took care of all her needs, even the need of a husband.
With such benefits why do we resist accepting God’s offer of shelter by going our own way?
